TRAVEL DETAILS BY ROAD: 

Paris   -   Beziers     8 hours
Caen   -   Beziers    10 hours
2.5 hours by road from Barcelona.

Suggested Car Hire: Hertz
Available through Ryannair web site.  There are a few other companies we have used on our trips that offer good deals sometimes; (i.e. Europer Car, Alamo) it is a case of looking on google for the best price.  The car rental offices are at Carcassonne airport, so easy to pick the car up.

From experience - always book your car before your departure, as it's much cheaper.

RAIL:

To Montpellier or Narbonne from UK  is approx. an 8 hour journey.
Eurostar from London - Paris; and then high speed train to Montpellier(TGV)  It is 3 hours from Paris by train.                                 

Narbonne railway - is 35 minutes drive away from our house.

INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS:

Cheap flights daily with Ryannair to Carcassonne.
